A beautiful French retreat set between St Foy La Grande and Eymet on the Dordogne/Gironde borders. The farmhouse sleeps up to 11 in 6 beautiful and modern bedrooms with the accommodation set over two floors including a separate master bedroom suite. The house is ideal for families as well as groups of friends. The rooms are all decorated to a high standard with many original features whilst offering all the modern conveniences a large group could want for. The kitchen is spacious with a large dining area. The living room is out of this world with double height ceilings and views over the terrace and pool area. The Farmhouse is completely flexible with its accommodation and layout and can easily accommodate a large family group of different ages. There is WIFI (fibre) throughout the house, so staying connected is easy.
On the Ground Floor, you enter through the kitchen. There are 4 bedrooms on the ground floor including the Master bedroom suite. On the first floor there are an additional 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms and a large attic with TV.
Ground Floor Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 is a large double bedroom, with a queen size bed with an en-suite shower and bathroom as well as a WC and dressing area
Bedroom 2 is a double bedroom which can be configured as either a king or two single beds
Bedroom 3 is a double bedroom with a queen bed
Bedroom 4 is a single bedroom and ideal for children
Bedrooms 2,3 and 4 are all located off the same small hallway and share a shower-room with separate WC
First Floor Bedrooms
Bedrooms 5 and 6 are on the first floor and is set into the eaves.
Bedroom 5 is a double bedroom, with a king size bed with an en-suite shower room and WC
Bedroom 6 is a double bedroom with a separate shower room and WC. The room can be configured as either a king sized bed or as two single beds.
Outside Living
The Farmhouse is superb for outdoor living, set in 12 acres of beautiful french countryside.
You enter the property through large gates and there is plenty of parking for 3-4 vehicles.
The Living Room has large sliding doors opening onto the travertine tiled terrace (1290 sqft) which in turn surrounds the 11m x 4.5 m heated swimming pool. The pool has a hard shutter cover for full security.
There is a large gas plancha for out door dining as well as a large dining table and plenty of chairs and recliners. The poolside terrace has fantastic views out across the pool and garden. There is also a new "terrain de boules" so you can enjoy a game of boules.
The pool and terrace have lighting for the long summer evenings if you cannot drag yourself away.
Location
The Farmhouse is ideally located between Saint Foy la Grande which is on the banks of the river Dordogne and the medieval bastides town of Eymet and Duras, all of which are just a 15 minute drive away with shops, bars and restaurants as well as their weekly markets and events. The Dordogne river-side town of Bergerac with its International Airport is just a 25 minute drive to the North.
Chateau Vigiers Championship Golf Course and 4 star hotel is just a 5 minute drive from the property where you will find the 27 hole golf course, Michelin starred restaurant as well as a family friendly bistro. There are also tennis courts and a Spa which can be used by non-guests by reservation. It is also possible to walk to a local traditional restaurant called Famille Moutier from the property. There are also restaurants and shops in nearby villages such as Loubes-Bernac, Monestier, Sigoules or Saussignac as well as plenty of local winemakers.
It is an ideal holiday home for families and groups in search of tranquillity and privacy whilst being in easy reach of the wealth of interest that the Dordogne has to offer. The Dordogne valley is well known for its abundance of vineyards including Monbazillac, Pecharment and Bergerac AOCs. There are activities to suit all ages and interests, foodies will enjoy the great local restaurants at the heart of France's centre of gastronomic excellence, as well as the wine of AOC Bergerac. The area has been described the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty.
Getting Here
The Farmhouse is just 25 minutes south of Bergerac making it an easy final destination. Bergerac has its own International Airport. Ryanair flies here from UK locations such as London Stansted and Liverpool. British Airways flies into Bergerac from London City and Southampton.
The vibrant city of Bordeaux is 1hr 30 minutes away, with a larger International Airport servicing even more UK and Worldwide destinations. In addition, Toulouse Airport is approximately a 2hr 15 mins drive to the south - again a large International Airport. The TGV station at Libourne connects with Paris.
