Le Chai Villa is a beautifully restored, 4‑star luxury retreat set in the heart of the Dordogne — a region celebrated for its vineyards, rolling countryside and timeless charm. Featured on Channel 4’s A New Life in the Sun (Series 10, Episodes 31–35) and highlighted in The Sunday Times (9 February 2025), the villa offers an exceptional setting for memorable holidays with family and friends.
Originally an old wine chai (pronounced shay), the property has been renovated to an outstanding standard while preserving its authentic character. With six en‑suite bedrooms — five of which can be arranged as twin or double — Le Chai Villa comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests.

The large open‑plan kitchen and dining area flows seamlessly onto extensive, split‑level private terraces, creating the perfect indoor–outdoor living experience. Guests can enjoy a heated 10m × 5m swimming pool, a solar‑heated outdoor shower, a BBQ area, and generous outdoor dining spaces ideal for long, leisurely meals.
Upstairs, four bedrooms lead off the elegant salon, while two further bedrooms are located on the lower level, accessed by a few steps from the dining area. A downstairs bathroom and WC, a fully equipped utility room, and a spacious salon/TV room with excellent Wi‑Fi throughout the villa and pool area ensure complete comfort during your stay.

Although wonderfully rural and tranquil, Le Chai Villa is just 10 minutes from local shops and amenities, and only 20 minutes from Bergerac town and airport — with easy car‑hire options available on arrival.
Perfect for Motorcycle Touring & Outdoor Adventures
The villa specialises in motorcycle tours, both guided and self‑guided, making it an ideal base for exploring the Dordogne’s scenic routes by bike or car. The surrounding area also offers golf, horse riding, canoeing, stand‑up paddleboarding, walking, cycling and, of course, exceptional wine tasting.
Food, Markets & Local Life
Guests are spoilt for choice with nearby restaurants ranging from relaxed bistros to refined dining. Local markets offer an abundance of fresh produce, regional specialities and artisan goods — perfect for discovering the flavours of the Dordogne.
